IRMA – INSTITUTE OF RURAL MANAGEMENT ANAND

Dr. Verghese Kurien, known as the ‘Father of the White Revolution in India’, founded IRMA at Anand, Gujarat with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC), the Government of India, Government of Gujarat, the erstwhile Indian Dairy Corporation and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).
IRMA is a premier institution of professional learning offering Management programmes with a focus on understanding real management problems and socio-economic realities of under-served communities through intensive fieldwork. Experienced faculty members from reputed national and international institutions collaborate to inspire and create the thinkers of tomorrow for a better world.
IRMA Campus – a connected ecosystem for learning
IRMA offers world-class infrastructure for learning at their 60-acre-green campus that is complete with all facilities for engaged learning and comfortable and secure living. The campus is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities like Lecture halls, Seminar rooms, Library, Auditorium, Executive training and development centre, Students Hostels, Student Activity Centre, Faculty and staff housing, Dispensary and other support facilities. The institute provides a high-speed, secure Wi-Fi and LAN network connectivity that enables you to stay connected wherever you are in the rooms, library, labs and departments.
Student Accommodation:
The PGDRM students’ accommodation comprises of a 15-block hostel complex with a total of 494 rooms, with its fully-furnished single rooms. The hostels house a prudent mix of students from both batches of the management programme providing great opportunities for camaraderie. An elected student body also actively contributes to the management of the hostel.
Classrooms:
The well-equipped and air-conditioned classrooms testify IRMA's commitment to offering a high-quality learning environment, complete with a projector, microphones, and other audio-visual aids to enhance the learning experience.
Library:
Library of IRMA, is one of the country's most comprehensive and resourceful libraries in the area of rural management. The collection includes books, journals, back volumes, project reports, microfilms, microfiche, videocassettes, maps, compact discs and state, national and international documents. It has developed an information retrieval and dissemination system for effective and efficient utilisation of the available resources. Linked to a campus-wide computer network the library provides easy access to faculty, students, and researchers through the intranet powered by KOHA Web-OPAC. Services provided by the library include reference, library orientation, inter-library-loan, Internet access and photocopying. The library has also been subscribing to E-journals and Databases.
Recreation and Cultural Life:
The campus is buzzing with activity round the year, with the Student Activity Centre as its epicentre extending to the well-equipped auditorium with a capacity of over 400 people. The cultural student body and the IRMA Staff Club organize various cultural programmes, entertainment and sports activities at the Institute. For the sports and fitness enthusiasts, the campus provides indoor and outdoor infrastructure facilities for football, cricket, badminton, table tennis, boxing, billiards and foosball. The campus also has a fully equipped gym.
Course Offered: Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM)
PGDRM is a two year fully residential postgraduate programme, recognized as equivalent to Master's degree in Rural Management by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and is also approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). IRMA's Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) prepares talented young managers to assume challenge-filled responsibilities in organizations that serve under-served communities in rural and urban India. The PGDRM curriculum is infused with multidisciplinary, practical and ethical questions and analyses reflecting complex challenges that professional managers and leaders face.

Selection Process:
IRMA will be Shortlisting and calling applicants in two ways:
1. Merit-based Calls: Candidates of General Category, who score above 85 percentile in CAT2019/XAT2020 are eligible to be shortlisted for IRMASAT and GA and PI process.
2. Profile-cum-merit based Calls: Candidates of General Category, Candidates who score above 80 percentile in CAT 2019/XAT 2020 and fall in the Profile-based call criteria will be shortlisted for IRMASAT and GA and PI process. The key criteria to shortlist candidates based on profile are: (i) Excellence: Graduation from Top universities and Colleges, (ii) Work Experience in Social Impact, Community Development, Livelihoods, Policy and Advocacy, Agriculture and Allied sectors; (iii) Graduation in Social sciences, Development studies, Agriculture and Allied Sciences.
Cut off for the candidates of reserved categories will be decided separately at appropriate time.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for selection process at IRMA where they will have to take the IRMA Social Awareness Test 2020 (IRMASAT 2020), Group Activity and Personal Interview.
